Founded in 1890, by Alfred Proctor, as "The Denver Tent and Awning Company", and later shortened to "Denver Tent" we have been manufacturing the highest quality tents, agriculture and construction products, and custom fabric solutions for over 130 years, right here in Denver, Colorado! 

Over those 130 years, Denver Tent has acquired numerous companies, including "The Brooks Tent and Awning Company" (adding the Brooks Square Umbrella Tent to our product line), "Camp-Lite Products, Inc." (adding the Ins-Tent Shelter Tent, later renamed the Denver Backpack/Trail Tent, to our product line), and most recently "The Colorado Tent and Awning Company", founded in 1899 by Robert Gutshall, adding the "Colorado Wall and Range Tents" to our product line.

In 2022, Denver Tent was acquired by Harlan and Karah Hummer.  Recognizing the value of American manufacturing and the lasting legacy of Denver Tent, our vision is to continue to be the premier tent and custom fabric products resource in the industry by offering exceptional quality, trusted advice and unparalleled customer service. 

We have been using many of the same techniques to craft our tents and other products since our founding and our products are built to last the test of time, anywhere from 10 to 70+ years depending on use and care.

All of our products are made by hand, in Denver, Colorado, from cutting and sewing the fabric, to cutting our tent frames to ensure a perfect fit.  No two tents are exactly the same, but the quality of every tent is unparalleled.  We even make our tent bags by hand!  

All of this is overseen by our Production Supervisor, Tim Perez, who has over 30 years of experience in the Tent making business.  He measures and cuts every product we sell before handing it off to our Master sewers who have 60+ years of combined experience with large textile sewing.
