Denver Tent Company: Keeping Hipsters and Produce “Fresh”
It’s Hip To Be “Green”
In a world where we value health and sustainability more and more, it is not wonder that businesses and hipsters are looking to the Denver Tent Company to help promote and provide an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
Once you cross the Golden Gate from San Francisco to Marin County, you leave behind the hustle and bustle of the big city, and get to Marin County, surrounded by redwood forest, windy residential mountains roads, and small streams. Like many counties across the country, Marin County is putting an emphasis on organic produce and farming with the 2010 launch of the Marin Country Mart Farmers Market, featuring many local organic produce, meats and fish for all the Bay Area to enjoy. But product is one thing; we all know how important packaging is when it comes to sales. So instead of every local farmer providing their own old worn and mismatched tents to shield themselves and their produce from the California Sun, they asked Denver Tent Company to help create a consistent, attractive and natural tent atmosphere to pull the whole set-up together.
Having made quality tents and fabrics for over a century this should provide no challenge for our skilled tent makers and sewers, however, your typical pop up tent – like the ones you tend to see at farmers markets and street fairs- will typically have a vinyl fabric that will be easier to manipulate to sit atop the metal frame. But a vinyl synthetic product would not go with the overall theme and practices of the farmers market, and we met the challenge to create all natural canvas tops for a consistent “organic” look for all the vendors and the market.
The farmers market made us look at our pop up tent and fabric production in a new light and now, thanks to hipsters everywhere, our Arcticreel fisherman’s bag has been introduced to a whole new scene. Arcticreel meet the dot-com-cybercafe-skinny-jean-wearing-laptop-carrying-hipster-tech-babies. I am not surprised that trendsetters got wind of this bag. It falls directly into the whole army/camouflage trend that is still big across the globe. The duality of the all-natural, functional look of the Arcticreel, with the concrete city jungle has been trendy in arts and fashion for some time now. It is the equivalent of the flower breaking through the concrete and stretching into the sun. The Arcticreel will, apparently, keep your fish fresh and your hipsters cool in any environment.
